In that blogpost from 2014 an example was shown that an all-down cluster could be Auto-bootstrapped:
[https://www.percona.com/blog/auto-bootstrapping-an-all-down-cluster-with-percona-xtradb-cluster/](https://www.percona.com/blog/auto-bootstrapping-an-all-down-cluster-with-percona-xtradb-cluster/)

From the 8.0 recovery guide i see that that feature seems like not existing any more:

> **[Percona XtraDB Cluster - Crash recovery](https://docs.percona.com/percona-xtradb-cluster/8.0/crash-recovery.html)**
>
> Unlike the standard MySQL replication, a PXC cluster acts like one logical
> entity, which controls the status and consistency of each node as well as the
> status of the whole cluster. This allows maintaining the data integrity more
> efficiently than...

Is it true that in the newer versions we’ve to bootstrap the first node and start all other nodes after shutting them all down or a crash and auto bootstrapping isn’t available any more.
I’ve done some tests with the Blogpost (first link) from December 3, 2014and this is truly not working any more.

Are there similar features or tools available or do we really have to do this now manually with the latest guide?

Feature still exists, and is enabled by default:

> **[Percona XtraDB Cluster - Index of wsrep\_provider options](https://docs.percona.com/percona-xtradb-cluster/8.0/wsrep-provider-index.html?h=recovery#pcrecovery)**
>
> The following variables can be set and checked in the wsrep\_provider\_options variable. The value of the variable can be
> changed in the MySQL configuration file, my.cnf, or by setting the variable value in the MySQL client.

Is this not working for you?

Hi,

not at all. Installed all 3 nodes with the default setup guide.

Please kill -9 all nodes, then start them back up. Provide some logs.
