# PXC Operator Data at Rest encryption Vault alternatives like Openbao

Hi Team,

Wanted to check if OpenBao can be used instead of Vault in the PXC operator, I was checking this [About data at rest encryption - Percona Operator for MySQL](https://docs.percona.com/percona-operator-for-mysql/pxc/encryption.html#next-steps) to understand the reason why only vault is support?

If there is any changes required, let me know, I can check and add them.

Hello @reddy_nishanth,  
openBao is supported. We are using openBao in our new PMM Demo site out of K8S on all Percona-supported databases (PS MySQL, PXC, Mongo, PGSQL TDE).
