# PostgreSQL Update availibility

Hi,PostgreSQL version 16.5 was released two weeks ago. Only version 16.4 is still available in the Percona repo.  
When will the new version be available in the percona repo?  
And why does it always take so long?

Hello @Juergen_Flint,

there was a CVE and a bug found in the 16.5 release and there has been another out-of-cycle release PG 16.6, just a week ago.

Our components and packaging testing ensures that all components work well together and are tested carefully. This testing takes time to ensure the overall product quality and not to ship any breaking changes.
