# Pg\_tde and community editions of postgresql

Yes, that is correct. Because pg\_tde is such a radical and substantive piece of technology key updates are required to the base code. And at this time we are actively working with the community in this regard.

FYI: Otherwise Percona PostgreSQL is virtually the same as the community version.
