Please help
Need older version of Percona 5.0 from the Centos Linux YUM repositories new ones not works

I recently installed version 5.0 Percona on Centos to evaluate and did not save steps now kicking myself
This one has my.cnf

Now I tried to install Percona but could only install newer versions

I have a second and big partition and the my.cnf file does not exist
I spent a day breaking server I am now re-install Centos Linux

I need percona 5.0 and not the new one
There is no command to generate the my.cnf file in newer ones

I also need to open the server to its IP address and not only from localhost

thanking you in advance

You can still download Percona Server version 5.0 here [http://www.percona.com/downloads/Percona-Server-5.0/](http://www.percona.com/downloads/Percona-Server-5.0/).

> I also need to open the server to its IP address and not only from localhost
> You have to make sure you comment out this option on your my.cnf:
> bind-address 127.0.0.1

to this:

# bind-address 127.0.0.1

then bounce/restart the MySQL/Percona server.

Create a user like:
mysql\> CREATE USER ‘newuser’@‘%’ IDENTIFIED BY ‘user\_password’;

It is advised to consult mysql documentation on MySQL User Account Management here - [http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/user-account-management.html](http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/user-account-management.html) for more information on creating, removing and securing mysql user accounts.

Hope that helps.
