# Install Percona Tools on Desktop Version of Ubuntu 24

Can Percona Tools be installed on a VM running Desktop Version of Ubuntu 24.

Or is it better to use an existing VM that’s already have Percona Tools and Ubuntu 24 installed?

Yes, any of Percona products can be installed on a VM running Ubuntu2024.  
In order to install the latest available version of any product you need it is better to use our [`percona-release` configuration tool](https://docs.percona.com/percona-software-repositories/percona-release.html)  
Once it is installed you may enable any needed repository and install the product you need.

You can install percona toolkit on its all supported version and also on Desktop version of Ubuntu 64 bit.
