# Incremental backup using xtrabackup

Hey everyone  
I’ve been testing backup operations using xtrabackup for a while and now I have a doubt that whether can I perform " incremental backups " using xtrabackup tool in mysql,  
It would be very much helpful if anyone help me in this regard, If its possible then can anyone provide me with the command to perform the incremental backup operation in mysql database

We have documentation on this:

Incremental backups are a type of physical backup, so you will need local disk access to make these.
