Hi,

Do you guys know why my innodb data and log files haven’t changed ?
ibdata1 has 1.8G
ib\_logfile0 has 5M
ib\_logfile1 has 5M

Here are my settings:

innodb\_data\_home\_dir = /var/lib/mysql/
innodb\_data\_file\_path = ibdata1:1000M;ibdata2:10M:autoextend
innodb\_log\_group\_home\_dir = /var/lib/mysql/
innodb\_log\_arch\_dir = /var/lib/mysql/
innodb\_buffer\_pool\_size = 2048M
innodb\_additional\_mem\_pool\_size = 20M
innodb\_log\_file\_size = 512M
innodb\_log\_files\_in\_group = 2
innodb\_log\_buffer\_size = 8M
innodb\_thread\_concurrency = 8
innodb\_flush\_log\_at\_trx\_commit = 1
innodb\_lock\_wait\_timeout = 50

I stopped mysqld, deleted the data+log files, but when I start mysql again the log shows:

Does it actually read in the rest of the settings or have you possibly placed the configuration rows in the wrong section of the my.cfg file? It should be in the [mysqld] section.

Check it by running “SHOW GLOBAL VARIABLES;”.

My bad,

I’ve added this chunk right in the middle of [mysqld] settings

[mysqld\_safe]log-error=/var/log/mysqld.logpid-file=/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.pid

So everything that was below [mysqld\_safe] was probably skipped including innodb settings.

Thanx.
