# How to use PMM on Windows

Hello raja1987 welcome to the forums, I moved your question to the PMM channel.

You would need to install docker for windows and run it there, I understand. Windows 7 needs to be 64 bit for that to be successful. However, we have only looked at this solution for pmm\_server.

pmm-client can be put in Docker, but it’s not a supported solution, and we haven’t tested this on Windows.

In summary: I’m not sure how well it will work for you. Maybe one of the tech team will correct me if I am wrong…

How should i configure MySQL services start and stop alerts in PMM tool . I dont see any related information in google and PMM website.

[raja1987](https://percona.vanillacommunities.com/profile/x/x/42627) , it shouldn’t be any different. You will just run the commands in the DOS prompt or in Power Shell.

I also want to install PMM on Win server 2016 . Is this doable ?&nbsp;  
We are using Oracle MySQL8 CS.&nbsp;  
I see original post as bit old , do we have any new advancements ?
