I’m having a heck of a time trying to get the nagios plugins working on Debian 7.2 and need some help / guidance.

I have installed the monitoring plugins via the repository and copied them to /usr/lib/nagios/plugins.

Attempting to run pmp-check-mysql-status directly from the command line resulted in the following error:
./pmp-check-mysql-status: 42: shift: can’t shift that many

Editing the pmp-check-mysql-status file to change from /bin/sh /bin/bash causes that error to go away.

But we are still unable to get nagios to actually use the script and present any data.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
