Hi,

Here’s one method making changes to a pgbouncer runtime parameter such as “max\_client\_conn”

- Configure pgbouncer for remote administrative access
  - edit “pgbouncer.ini”

```auto
        ;;;
        ;;; Users allowed into database 'pgbouncer'
        ;;;
        admin_users = pgbouncer
```

```
- edit pgbouncer file "userlist.txt" (actually password can be hashed, refer to documentation)
```

```auto
        ;; EXAMPLE password/username
        "pgbouncer" "pgbouncer"
```

- Restart pgbouncer

- login pgbouncer as administrator

- set the runtime parameter
` set max_client_conn = 50;`

CAVEAT: The runtime parameter is effective only until the next time you restart pgbouncer. Otherwise, you’ll need to edit pgbouncer.ini.

Hope this helps.
