# How do we restore Percona xtrabackup on a normal mysql host

We have few mysql hosts, using Percona xtrabackup tool for taking backup on critical hosts. However, for testing purpose we would like to restore percona xtrabackup on a normal mysql host. Can any one suggest the steps…

The Xtrabackup documentation has quite a few nice tutorials and how-to articles for common tasks. Below is the link to the basic backup, prepare, and restore tutorial which should give you what you need.
