Hi,

I have 100G of RAM and 70G configured as innodb buffer pool. But after few days of usage swapping started.
I wanted to enable NUMA support in percona mysql server 5.6.50-90.

As per [PerconaLink](https://www.percona.com/doc/percona-server/5.6/performance/innodb_numa_support.html) “Variables innodb\_buffer\_pool\_populate and numa\_interleave were reverted to their original implementation due to upstream variant being less effective in memory allocation.”

Now I am confused about which variables to use in my.cnf in order to enable NUMA.

My current my.cnf is as below. Do i need flush\_caches,numa\_interleave and innodb\_buffer\_pool\_populate along with innodb\_numa\_interleave OR just innodb\_numa\_interleave is enough to handle NUMA stuff.

# my.cnf

```
[mysqld_safe]
flush_caches = 1
numa_interleave = 1
[mysqld]
innodb_buffer_pool_populate = ON
innodb_numa_interleave = ON
```

Please point me in the right direction.

Thanks,
Jayesh

Firstly, you should upgrade to 5.7 as soon as possible. 5.6 is completely dead, no bug fixes, no security fixes, nothing.
Secondly, set innodb\_numa\_interleave and flush\_caches to 1 for best NUMA setup.
