There are features for backup and restore of cluster; but would this functionality imply a similar working as that of a snapshot, that can be restored as and when needed? I am deploying the latest version of the operator on Kubernetes with GCP.

We do not have a snapshot functionality, but you can take a backup and then restore from that backup

The issue is if you take a snapshot then it has a state X regarding the disk. Does this state also reflect the state of the pod (=disk + memory (WT cache, Percona M.E.)
