Hello guys,

we recently switched all our tables to InnoDB.

I followed the basic instructions at [http://bit.ly/3pqQc](http://bit.ly/3pqQc) (mysqlperformanceblog) for the settings.

our server has:

- 600gb RAID1 15k disk
- 2 \* quad core
- 24gb of RAM

and this is my InnoDB configuration

# -------------------------------------------------------------------------------# ++++ InnoDB Parameters# -------------------------------------------------------------------------------# Generalinnodb\_data\_home\_dir = /var/lib/mysql/innodbinnodb\_log\_group\_home\_dir = /var/lib/mysql/innodb/logsinnodb\_file\_per\_tableinnodb\_data\_file\_path = ibdata1:100M:autoextendinnodb\_status\_file = ib\_statusinnodb\_autoextend\_increment = 10Minnodb\_support\_xa = 0innodb\_thread\_concurrency = 8innodb\_flush\_method = O\_DIRECTinnodb\_flush\_log\_at\_trx\_commit = 2# Memoryinnodb\_buffer\_pool\_size = 16Ginnodb\_additional\_mem\_pool\_size = 8Minnodb\_open\_files = 512# Logginginnodb\_log\_buffer\_size = 8Minnodb\_log\_file\_size = 256Minnodb\_log\_files\_in\_group = 2

the only parameter I’m not sure about is
innodb\_data\_file\_path = ibdata1:100M:autoextend

but does it make sense to change that value given I have set innodb\_file\_per\_table on where each table will have it own tablespace?

thank you

if you have innodb\_file\_per\_table on then changing value for parameter innodb\_data\_file\_path doesnt make any sense.

this parameter have significance only have you have single data file.

Not exactly; read [http://www.mysqlperformanceblog.com/2010/06/10/reasons-for-r](http://www.mysqlperformanceblog.com/2010/06/10/reasons-for-r) un-away-main-innodb-tablespace/
