# Configuring an async slave off of a master-master cluster

Hi,

```auto
# mysqld --version

When following the directions in blog post [URL][https://www.percona.com/blog/2015/02/20/how-to-setup-a-pxc-cluster-with-gtids-and-have-async-slaves-replicating-from-it/[/URL]](https://www.percona.com/blog/2015/02/20/how-to-setup-a-pxc-cluster-with-gtids-and-have-async-slaves-replicating-from-it/%5B/URL%5D), this happens when I try to set the purged GTID:

```auto
mysql> SET &#64;&#64;global.gtid_purged='dd154cf1-8bba-ee19-4b02-25f924665db9:1';
ERROR 1840 (HY000): &#64;&#64;GLOBAL.GTID_PURGED can only be set when &#64;&#64;GLOBAL.GTID_EXECUTED is empty.

mysql> select &#64;&#64;GLOBAL.GTID_EXECUTED;
+------------------------------------------+
| &#64;&#64;GLOBAL.GTID_EXECUTED |
+------------------------------------------+

When I I know this because I copy/pasted it to the implementation document…

I had to create repl@MasterIP and repl@SlaveIP on both master and slave.
