I’m using apt to install server+client. After uncompressing the packages I got a prompt asking me what the root password should be. After entering, I got an alert window saying it was unable to set the password and that I should to it after installation finished.

The installation failed. See below for complete output from apt. I’m using Debian squeeze. How do I solve this?

Both mysql.log and mysql.err are empty. I’m also including message in syslog.

it looks like it installed, just doesn’t start. are you using ubuntu? i had to disable apparmor from monitor mysql because it was preventing it to run external scripts which wsrep needs to do.

Hi,

your configuration is wrong, try to change the bind address to 0.0.0.0 instead of 127.0.0.1 or change wsrep\_sst\_method to rsync for example.

regards,
