# About Percona XtraDB Cluster version 8.0.29

We upgraded the percona xtradb cluster version from mysql 8.0.28 to 8.0.29, but I learned that mysql 8.0.29 version is not stable. Is this true ? Mysql’s website says that we should not upgrade to mysql 8.0.29. But there is no version 8.0.30 in percona XtraDB Cluster yet. Is Percona XtraDB Cluster working properly for Mysql version 8.0.29?

Percona Server for MySQL version 8.0.29 is stable and contains bug fixes. You should note that the community version changed the default ALTER algorithm to INSTANT. This has caused issues in some cases so we set the default in our version to be INPLACE for the time being.
