wget percona.com/get/percona-toolkit.rpm problem

davidchildersksdavidchildersks EntrantInactive User Role Beginner
Hello there!

When I issue the

command in a terminal session, then attempt to either yum localinstall it or rpm -ivh it the package managers fail to install the tools.

yum says "Cannot open: percona-toolkit-2.1.3-1.noarch.rpm. Skipping."

rpm says "error: percona-toolkit-2.1.3-1.noarch.rpm: not an rpm package (or package manifest):"

When I look at the file with nano, I see that the headers look like a web page or something similar:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML+RDFa 1.0//EN"
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" version="XHTML+RDFa 1.$
xmlns:content="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/content/"
xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/terms/"
xmlns:foaf="http://xmlns.com/foaf/0.1/"
xmlns:og="http://ogp.me/ns#"

xmlns:skos="http://www.w3.org/2004/02/skos/core#"
xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#">

Is this normal? Am I missing something here?

Thanks!

/David C.

    Hello David.
There was an issue with some redirections. Now it's fixed.
Thanks for letting us know about it.

    You're welcome.

Now I'm getting all kinds of errors regarding conflicts with files from (installed) package Percona-Server-server-55-5.5.27-rel28.0.291.rhel5.x86_64 and Percona-Server-shared-compat from Percona-Server-shared-compat-5.5.27-rel28.0.291.rhel5.x86_64

Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

I tried yum clean all which seemed to help get the installation process further - but in the end, I encountered the same messages.

My apologies for being such a newby to this process.

Thank you in advance for any hints or advice you might be able to provide.

    /David C.
